Baba Yara stadium closed down for World Cup qualifier

The Baba Yara Sports stadium pitch will not be available for domestic competitions until after Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic.

The decision is to give managers of the pitch ample time to further improve its quality ahead of the qualifier, scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2024.

Ghana will face off with Central African Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Baa Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, May 10, 2024 – four days after clashing with the Eagles of Mali in Bamako.

The Ghana Premier League Matchday 32 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics will now take place at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Relevant stakeholders are to take note and act accordingly.
