Hearts of Oak new signing Gladson Awako scored on his debut after coming on as a substitute in matchday eight fixture against Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Stadium.
The 30-year-old scored from 25 yards to hand Hearts of Oak the lead in the 72nd minute.
Awako came on as a substitute for Enock Asubonteng in the 64th minute.
The former Great Olympics midfielder played a vital role after being introduced into the game to help Hearts of Oak break the deadlock following a stalemate in the first half.
Meanwhile, Hearts coach Samuel Boadu was rushed to hospital after falling ill during his side’s 1-0 win over Elmina Sharks in Ghana Premier League match.
He was rushed to the Elmina Hospital during the half-time of the game and didn’t return to the bench for the second half.
His assistant Hamza Obeng took charge and directed affairs from the touchline as the Phobians got their first win of the season.
This is the second time the coach has falled ill during a match in the Ghana Premier League as he siffered a similar fate while coaching Medeama.
