Appollonia Chief warns public against purchase of land from unauthorised persons

Private developers are being advised to be wary in purchasing land from unauthorised persons at Appollonia in the Greater Accra Region.

The public is being warned by the Chief of Appollonia, Nii Nuertey Amobi II, due to several complaints his office had received over the period.

Although, he shares sympathy with persons who had suffered this fate, and urged the public to be cautious by making sure that they do all the necessary diligence or contact the Stool before purchasing any land in the traditional area.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Appollonia Stool Lands Legal Advisor, Emmanuel Effah Annan Esq.

According to the statement, persons who had acquired land within the traditional area without the notifying the Stool had done so at their own risk.

The statement said the Stool had taken notice of persons with malicious and questionable character undermining the Chief’s authority with impunity, whereas innocent members of the public were the ones at the receiving end.

The statement further indicated that Nii Nuertey Amobi II had not turned a blind eye to these alleged criminal acts, and, as such, had instituted several legal actions against these people to bring sanity to Appollonia.

It further urged the members of the public to refrain from dealing with these unscrupulous people who, at the end of the day, would not serve their interests.

The statement also attached copies of documents indicating when Nii Nuertey Amobi II was enstooled, January 20, 2014, gazetted on July 22, 2019, and registered by the Greater Accra and National House of Chiefs.
