AngloGold Gives 8 MDAs GHC400k Equipment to celebrate Farmers

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Obuasi mine has donated eight Motorised Tricycles (Aboboyaa) and a number of agricultural inputs worth GHC400,000 to the two Municipal and six district assemblies in its catchment area for distribution to the best male and female farmers.

The Municipal Assemblies are Bekwai and Obuasi whilst the District assemblies include Obuasi East, Akrofuom, Adansi South, Asokwa, Fomena and Jacobu.

Speaking at the function, Mr. Edmund OduroAgyei, Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Land Management of AGA noted that as part of the company’s vision to support people in its catchment areas, gave out the equipment and the other inputs to the Assemblies.

He was hopeful the items donated would help the recipients a lot and added that this is not the first time the company is coming out with such a donation.

The Akrofuom DCE, Mr Maurice Jonas Woode and the Adansi South District Director of Agriculture, Mr. David Alfred Mensah, jointly thanked the company for the donation.

They noted that this is the fifth time the company has supported the Assemblies towards the celebration of Farmers Day.
