Alan ready to lead NPP- resigns as minister

The Trades and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has resigned, The Chronicle can confirm.

The Chronicle can also confirm that Jubilee House received the resignation letter last night, but was not surprised.

He was appointed the Minister for Trade and Industry in the first term of the Akufo-Addo government, and maintained that post in the second term until now.

No reason has been given for the resignation, as the decision is yet to come out officially, following the tendering in of the resignation letter Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Meanwhile, close sources say his resignation now paves the way for him to openly champion his highest dream of leading the New Patriotic Party into the 2024 presidential elections.

Mr Alan Kyerematen, 67, has since 2007, attempted to lead the New Patriotic Party, but is yet to be successful.

However, he has served in key portfolios in the last four governments of the NPP led by John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, whose second administration is active.
