Alan Cash cashes-in in K’si

Groups of Team Alan 2024 from across the country last Saturday converged in Kumasi to participate in a Health walk dubbed “Aduru Wo Su”.

It was organised in honour of the Minister of Trade and Industry, John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, by his supporters.

The walk was aimed at whipping up support for the Trade and Industry Minister’s bid for the party’s flagbearer position for the 2024 polls.

Cladded in ‘Aduru Wo Su’ T-shirts, participants walked from the Bekwai Roundabout through some principal streets, amidst fanfare and singing, before converging at the Heroes Park, near the BabaYara Sports Stadium, where they were addressed by party gurus.

Edward Ennin, former Member of Parliament for Obuasi reminded the participants that the party’s constitution is binding on all members, irrespective of positions some members hold.

He cautioned them to guard against a situation where few people are enjoying while majority of the people are suffering.

The former Obuasi lawmaker also advised against voter apathy during the polls and to ensure that Alan Kyerematen gets the nod to lead the party and eventually form the next NPP government.

Mr. Hopeson Yao Adorye, a former NPP parliamentary candidate for Kpone-Katamanso told the gathering that, based on the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition of the NPP, it is time for Alan Kyerematen to lead the party and must he be supported in this bid.

He noted that a Dombo element has always paired with either a Danquah or a Busia counterpart since 1992 and the tradition must go on, now that it is Alan’s turn from the Busia block to pair with a Dombo candidate.

Mr Adorye said the voting pattern in the Ashanti region has always made the difference, hence the need to elect their own this time round and support him for the ultimate, by way of voting to win election 2024 and retain the party in power.

The former Airport Security Director said in the 2020 elections the 1.7 million votes from Ashanti region cancelled votes from nine regions to propel the party to power and expects that with Alan Kyerematen at the helm of affairs, the Ashanti region could garner about 2 million votes which covers over 13 regions to give power to the NPP.

Meanwhile, the leadership of market women and traders in Kumasi have pledged to fund the nomination forms of Mr. Alan Kyerematen for the flagbearership slot.
