Mr. Abubakar Sedik, the District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West, has donated GH¢30,000 towards the construction of an Islamic school in the district as part of efforts to support educational development and community empowerment.
The donation was made during a fundraising engagement with the Muslim community on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
The Islamic school project is expected to enhance educational opportunities in the district while promoting religious and social development among the youth.
The financial contribution is expected to boost the ongoing construction of the school, which is aimed at expanding access to quality education for children within the Muslim community and the district at large.
Addressing members of the community, Mr. Sedik reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting education, social inclusion and community development through strategic partnerships and support for local initiatives.
He commended the Muslim community for taking steps to establish the educational facility and assured them of his continued support to ensure the successful completion of the project.
The DCE urged community members and stakeholders to work together to complete the school before the end of his tenure, stressing the importance of education in shaping future generations and accelerating local development.
Leaders of the Muslim community expressed gratitude to Mr. Sedik for the generous donation, describing the gesture as timely and impactful.
They pledged to utilise the funds responsibly to advance the construction works and bring the project to fruition.
