An honourary Doctorate Degree has been conferred on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre South, Christian Adu-Poku, by the United Clergy International, in collaboration with the Elohim Theological College and Seminary.
The awards ceremony was held at Abesim in the Sunyani Municipality of Bono Region recently during the 17th Ever Achievers Leadership Awards ceremony.
The theme for this year’s awards ceremony was “The Essence of Recognition.”
Christian Adu-Poku aka APC received the Humane Letters Award for distinguishing himself as a personality who provided exceptional service to his district, Ashanti Region, and the country as a whole, and thus helping to alleviate extreme hardship through the demonstration of quality leadership and empathy for matters relating to society’s development and the welfare of the people.
The officiating Minister, Bishop Dr. Kwame Aburam Anoff Snr, President of Elohim Theological College and Seminary in Accra, said the institute honoured the living based on meritorious services to encourage others to emulate and put up excellent performances.
An elated Christian Adu-Poku urged other public office holders to be unequivocal and establish a good rapport with society.
Other awardees included Dr. Gideon Boako of the Office of the ice-President, a recipient of UCIA Heroes of Distinction and Excellence in Leadership, and the MCE for Tano North, Ernest Kwarteng, who received the Lifetime Honorary Award for Excellence in Leadership.
