Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has sued the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Samuel Adu Gyamfi, and others over allegations of extortion levelled against him.
Speaking during the first sitting of Parliament’s emergency meeting, Mr Afenyo-Markin disclosed that he had filed legal action against Mr Adu Gyamfi and others in connection with the allegations.
He said he had confidence in the judicial process and believed the courts would make the appropriate determination on the cases.
The Minority Leader maintained that the allegations had crossed the boundaries of political discourse and said he had chosen to seek redress through the courts.
