The Essipong Stadium in Sekondi will host Ghana’s upcoming clash against Somalia in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, announced the venue during a meeting between the GFA Executive Council and Parliament’s Select Committee on Sports on Wednesday, November 4.

The Black Stars will host Somalia in the first of their double-header encounters on Thursday, November 12.

The match will be Ghana’s third outing in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers, with the team seeking to recover after losing their opening two matches to Ivory Coast and The Gambia.

The Black Stars will therefore be under pressure to secure a victory against Somalia as they look to get their qualifying campaign back on track.

Following the first encounter at the Essipong Stadium, Ghana will prepare for the second meeting with Somalia, scheduled for Monday, November 16.
