Police at Zenu-Atadeka, near Ashaiman, have shot and killed a member of a gang of two who subjected commuters to robberies.
Information reaching The Chronicle from the Police Headquarters reveals that on Monday, November 3, 2025 at about 03:00 hours, police had a report that two persons wearing face masks on a motorbike have mounted road block at Ridoana Junction, suburb of Ashaiman New York.
That, the gang members were robbing early morning commuters of their phones and money.
A police deployment on reaching the scene was greeted with sporadic gunfire.
The men took position and returned fire, with one of the robbers taken down, while the other managed to runaway with the motorbike.
At the scene were 9mm expended bullets, one machete, an orange coloured lady’s bag, three phones and a face mask.
Relatives of the deceased who have identified the body are assisting the police in their investigation.
