In the case of Madam Faustilove Appiah Kannin, 26 of the 28 assembly members voted ‘Yes’ while two voted against her. Mr William Kofi Adzowu on the other hand had all the 28 assembly members voted ‘Yes’ in his favour.

At Adansi Akrofuom, Mr. Gariba Mohammed Mustapha, got the votes of all the 17 assembly members and he was subsequently confirmed and sworn in.

In her acceptance speech, Madam Appiah Kannin pledged to improve infrastructure in health, education and transportation.

She also pledged to ensure equitable distribution of resources and expand access to health and other sectors of the economy.

Mr. William Kofi Adzowu, on his part, promised to speed up the development of the Obuasi East Municipality.

He promised to move the Boete Timber Market to a new location and turn the place into a new bus terminal.

“I am not going to be an MCE who will lord it over you, but I will serve you to the best of my ability,” he added.

Speaking to the enthusiastic crowd after his confirmation at Akrofuom, Mr. Gariba Mohammed Mustapha promised to bring development to his people.

“Let us embark on this journey to bring development to the people in unity. I am going to be a DCE for everybody,” he added.
