A renowned preacher of the gospel and a socio-political critic has lashed out at those criticising the legitimacy and operations of Operations Recover All Loot (ORAL), questioning what special laws the country require before it can retrieve its own looted assets.
He said if all the previous governments, since independence, had sold state assets to themselves, nothing would have been left and cautioned those opposing ORAL to back off.
Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, also known as Saint Sark, at a press conference recently in Kumasi, lamented that the selfish interest with which people are destroying prime lands, particularly in Kumasi, under the guise of rezoning and selling same to private developers is quite alarming and emphasised that ORAL must extend its scope of operations to cover all regions in the country, including Kumasi.
“What special laws do we require as a country before we can retrieve our looted assets”, Saint Sark, who is also the Head Pastor of the Open Arms Ministry/Jesus Chapel questioned and reiterated that he supported the ORAL mantra even before President John Mahama got elected. He insisted that there is no need to oppose the operations of ORAL, if there is nothing to hide.
To the NDC government, Saint Sark said it was good to have listened to everybody before the December 2024 general elections, because politics is about numbers, but cautioned the party to be wary of ”fake prophets and pastors” now desperately trying to weave their way into the NDC administration by associating the party’s victory to their so-called election prophecies.
The Head Pastor specifically mentioned some of the “fake prophets and pastors” and emphasised that President Mahama would have been shocked at the various negative utterances against him, if he had lost in the previous elections by these same so-called prophets and pastors now trying to identify with government, and trying to parade the corridors of power as king makers.
According to him, it is painful to hear some so-called prophets claiming they have contributed to the NDC and President Mahama’s victory and stressed that nobody has helped both spiritually and physically in the victory of John Dramani Mahama and the NDC in the last general elections more than himself.
He emphasised that he was the one who advised the party to focus its campaign message on the ‘Umbrella’ instead of the number ‘8’ or John Dramani Mahama and to explain to the electorate that he would not cancel the Free Senior High School (FSHS), but rather make it better.
He said he is not a member of any of the political parties in the country, but for the sake of the development of the country, he was admonishing everybody to support President Mahama to move Ghana forward.
