Adelaide Ntim, Member of Parliament for Nsuta-Kwaman-Beposo in the Ashanti Region, last Sunday commiserated with the Kantamanto Market fire victims.

She donated GHC50,000 to the traders who hail from her constituency and were affected by the devastating fire that engulfed the market and destroyed over 500 shops on Tuesday, January 2, 2025.

The donation is expected to cushion over 100 victims from the Nsuta Kwaman Beposo Constituency in revamping their respective businesses.

The gesture was in response to pleas from members of the Nsuta-Kwaman-Beposo Traders Association at the market to come to their aid.

The Legislator, being the one of the female Members of the 8th Parliament to retain her seat in the 9th Parliament under the Four Republic, said her assistance was necessary for the fact that her constituents supported and retained her in Parliament and, therefore, she needed to reciprocate their love for her.

She encouraged the victims to be steadfast in their resolve in life because there are better days ahead to revamp their businesses.

Adelaide Ntim urged all Legislators to come to the aid of their respective constituents who were affected by the fire as a national effort, to help address the catastrophe which befell the nation on that fateful day.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the traders, Mr. Adjei Amponsah, Chairman, Nsuta-Kwaman-Beposo Traders Association expressed gratitude to Hon. Ntim for responding to their plea adding that the donation had come as a great relief.

He called on the government to expedite efforts towards restoring their livelihoods as Kantamanto market remains a critical economic hub for thousands in Ghana and beyond.
