Salomey Awity Bafoh, granted bail

The Adenta Circuit Court has granted Salomey Awiti Baffoe bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, both of whom must be Civil Servants earning not less than GH¢3,000 per month.

The court further directed the accused to report to the Hansua Police Station, in the Techiman area of the Bono East Region, once every two weeks as part of the bail conditions.

The bail application was not opposed by the State.

Counsel for Salomey, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, who is the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South reminded the court that the accused had been in custody for three weeks.

“Nana, at the last sitting you reminded the accused for us to report to the court. The accused has been in custody for three weeks. We are entirely in your hands,” counsel told the court.

The court subsequently granted the accused bail of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, who must be Civil Servants earning at least GH¢3,000 per month.

Salomey is also required to report to the Hansua Police Station once every two weeks.

The accused is facing allegations that she was an accomplice to controversial Ghanaian TikToker, known as Ghana Jollof.

She was arrested on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at her residence at Hansua, near Techiman in the Bono East Region.

Her arrest attracted public attention following reports concerning her alleged midnight detention. Salomey, a 40-year-old mother of three from Hansua in the Techiman Municipality, has since remained in custody.

Following the court’s decision, her counsel, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, described the granting of bail as a welcome development.

The case has been adjourned to February 17, 2027 for further proceedings.
