The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has announced a new producer price of GH¢42,400 per tonne of cocoa for the 2026/2027 crop season, translating into GH¢2,650 per 64-kilogramme bag.
The new price takes effect today, Friday, September 25, 2026, according to a statement issued by COCOBOD.
COCOBOD said cocoa farmers would receive 71.18 per cent of the realised gross Free on Board (FOB) value under the new pricing arrangement.
The Board also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the premium quality of Ghana’s cocoa as the new crop season gets underway.
At the announced rate, a farmer will receive GH¢2,650 for every 64kg bag of cocoa sold, while a tonne will attract GH¢42,400.
The producer price is the amount paid to farmers for their cocoa and is reviewed at the beginning of crop seasons.
COCOBOD’s announcement did not provide a breakdown of the realised gross FOB value or the factors used to arrive at the 71.18 per cent farmer share.
The new producer price applies from September 25, 2026, for the 2026/2027 crop season.
