Fashion stylist Keliiy Morgan has revealed that working with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy was one of the experiences that changed his life, describing the award-winning musician as a gentle person away from his public image.

Speaking on Behind the Hustle on 3Xtra, Keliiy, who has worked with several major African artistes—including Shallipopi, Fireboy, Rema, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Black Sherif—said his experience with Burna Boy left a lasting impression on him.

I’ve worked with Burna Boy, Shallipopi, Fireboy, Rema, Stonebwoy, Shatta, Black Sherif. The Burna experience changed my life. He is not bossy like he shows out there. He is actually a very gentle guy who will talk to you when he needs to.”

Keliiy also opened up about the demanding work that goes into creating standout looks for his clients, revealing that he sometimes has to search for clothing pieces in the early hours of the morning.

He explained that finding unique couture pieces in Ghana can be difficult, especially when a stylist wants to create a distinctive look for a client.

Waking up and being in the market around 2, 3, or 4 a.m. looking for raw pieces because you want to have the best for your client—that’s very stressful. Mind you, we’re in Ghana, and it’s not easy to find those couture looks, to find very amazing looks, unless you’re making them, and making them is not cheap either.”

Despite the pressure and long hours involved, Keliiy said seeing the final work makes the struggle worthwhile.

“Those moments are very tough, but after the work is out, it’s amazing.
