The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has flagged 70 universities and colleges as unrecognised due to various quality assurance concerns.
The Commission has, therefore, cautioned the public to exercise due diligence when enrolling in programmes or accepting certificates issued by these institutions.
In a press release issued by its Corporate Affairs Directorate and sighted by the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, GTEC named institutions from countries including Ghana, the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland, India, France, Nigeria and Zambia.
The institutions operating in Ghana are Debest College of Science, Arts and Business, Faith University Seminary (FUS), Doxa Open University, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Training School, Quest International University, Kingdom Living Bible Institute, Kumasi, Global Professional College, Effiduase and Volta University College.
