Celebrated Gospel musician Diana Hamilton has shared an intimate account of her spiritual struggles during a difficult season in her life, revealing that even as a committed Christian, she faced moments of deep questioning.

In an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi, Hamilton reflected on her journey to motherhood, admitting that the period of waiting tested her faith profoundly.

“I never went wayward as a young lady,” she said, “yet when I was desperate for a child, I suffered and even questioned God.”

She explained that communication with God had always been central to her life, from the early days of her music ministry through the period when she longed for a child. However, she acknowledged that faith does not eliminate human vulnerability.

“We have always communicated with God, from the beginning of my career as a musician through to when I was in need of a child,” she noted.

Drawing strength from Scripture, she referenced the biblical assurance that “all things work together for the good of those who love and serve the Lord,” explaining that this promise sustained her through uncertainty.

Hamilton also revisited the early challenges of her music career. She recalled being told that success in gospel music required staying permanently in Ghana, yet her circumstances did not afford her that option at the time.

“From the start of my music career, I was told that you had to stay in the country before you could do well,” she said. “But I did not have the luxury of time.”

What once appeared to be a limitation, she believes, ultimately worked in her favour.

“It was a challenge, but now it is working for our good,” she reflected.

Encouraging others facing seasons of struggle, Hamilton advised believers to actively seek clarity from God rather than silently endure confusion.

“We need to seek clarification from the Lord to make things clear for us when we are in a struggle,” she said.
