60-Year-Old Prince Amfo Boahen is Adansi South Best Farmer

Sixty-year-old Prince Amfo Boahen was on Friday adjudged the Adansi South District Best Farmer at a Farmers’ Day at Adansi Subrisu. For his prize, he was presented with a motorised tricycle (aboboyaa) and many agricultural products.

In all, 14 farmers, one Agricultural Extension Officer and an Educational Institution were awarded.

Speaking at the function, the Adansi South DCE, Mr Francis K. Ankomah, noted that the government through the National Youth Authority is rolling out a Programme to involve the youth in agriculture and charged the youth to be part of the policy to improve their lifestyles.

The DCE charged Nananom to endeavour to make lands available for the smooth take off of the program.

He congratulated the award winners and urged the rest of the teeming farmers to up their game to be awarded next time.

The Adansi South District Director of Agriculture, Mr David Alfred Mensah, on his part stressed that the government has rolled out some policies, which include the sale of subsidized and improved seeds, seedlings, fertilizers and farming equipment to farmers.

He urged all farmers to be in touch with Agricultural Extension Agents to benefit from these policies and programmes.
