4 MPs inspect tarring of Ofoase-Ayirebi-Oda road

Portions of the road that had already been tarred

Four Members of Parliament from the Eastern Region have inspected progress of work on the 36.2 kilometres Ofoase Ayirebi to Oda road.

They are the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, MP for Oda, Akwasi Acquah, Asene/Manso/Akroso MP, George Kwame Aboagye, and Achiase MP, Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo.

So far, 20 kilometres of the road has already been tarred with bitumen, whilst work has begun on the final 16.2 kilometers.

The inspection, which took place last week Friday, formed part of the routine assessment of road construction works in their various constituencies.

The MPs expressed the utmost satisfaction at the progress and quality of work done so far, indicating that the road, when completed, would ease the stress of drivers and passengers.

Another side of the project

They gave the assurance that the government, under its much-touted Year of Roads Agenda, was committed to the completion of the road and others within their constituencies.

The road project was being executed by Erdmac Company Limited, Ghana.

The Resident Contractor, who conducted the MPs around the ongoing construction, said sealing works, barring any challenge, were programmed to be completed by the end of October this year.

He said the full stretch of the road would be fully opened to motorists once the primary sealing was done.
