‘I am not Yvonne Nelson,’ a memoir by Actress Yvonne Nelson has caught fire on social media and the traditional media space as she has been extremely open about her life.
The Actress who spoke of a range of issues mentioned that, there are spiritual attacks in the movie industry as she shared her personal experience of attack. She was cast to act in an Abdul Salam Mumuni produced movie, ‘Material Girl,’ but suddenly experienced blurred vision and reddened eye.
The situation, according to Miss Nelson worsened each passing day, causing the movie to be on hold till she recovers. Unfortunately for her, the situation was not getting any better until one day, “I locked myself up in my room for a whole day, stripped naked, lay on the floor and prayed and cried to God.
I wasn’t someone who could be described as very spiritual, but I had seen the hand of God in my life many times and knew He could intervene in this crucial stage of my life He had placed me. It was a crazy act of faith but it worked” Miss Nelson wrote.
One of the chapters of the memoir that is currently trending is the chapter eight which talks about an abortion with Rapper Sarkodie. In this chapter, Yvonne talks about how music became her get away from her numerous struggles in life, making her fall in love with Sarkodie’s music and eventually getting intimate with him.
According to Yvonne Nelson, when she conceived Sarkodie’s baby in 2010, the Rapper told her that he was seeing someone else and was not ready to father a child at that stage of his life. During that time, Sarkodie was staying with his mother in Tema and there was no way he was adding an additional burden.
This compelled her to abort the baby. The abortion process which came with excruciating pain was not only emotionally draining than Sarkodie’s absence of care during and after the procedure.
