Women and the youth in the Asutifi-North District in the Ahafo Region have been given start-up kits as part of the government’s efforts to create job opportunities.
This will enable them to develop skills in hairdressing, baking, welding, dressmaking, tiling, steel bending, carpentry, masonry, electricals and plumbing, and be self-sufficient to better their lives.
Speaking at a brief ceremony where 180 youth apprentices were presented with startup kits, Mr. Anthony Adjei Mensah, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, thanked President Nana Akufo-Addo for his kindness towards the district.
“The President has been in great support to the district whenever we call on him, “he added.
He urged the youth to make good use of the start-up kits given to them and not to sell or abandon the courses.
Mr. Adjei Mensah also charged the youth to be on their best behavior, be creative, and learn the jobs well.
Appreciation
The youth expressed their appreciation to the President, Regional Minister, Member of Parliament, District Chief Executive, and the District Assembly for the great support in their lives and promised to be of good behavior and make good use of the start-up kits given to them.
