Fameye has made a bold statement in the music industry with his smash hit song ‘Praise’ which swept awards at the just ended 23rd edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards last Saturday.
One of the awards Fameye won which has attracted discussion in both social and traditional media is the ‘Songwriter of the year,’ an award which has broken Kofi Kinaata’s dominance of that category.
In a tweet to congratulate Fameye for winning the ‘Songwriter of year’ award, Kofi Kinaata who has won that category four times, making him the only Artiste in Ghana to win more of that said “Congrats to my brother @Fameye for winning the SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR #VGMA23.”
In a quick response, Fameye mentioned that “King you have no idea how you dey put me on my toes!! Role Model!! Akoma fitaa!! Thank you.”
In addition to the ‘Songwriter of the year,’ Fameye also won ‘Best Afropop Song of the year’ with ‘Prasie.’
