Nana Kwaku Beyernnor II, Chief of Dambai in the Oti Region, has assured the New Pastriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, of his support in his bid to lead the party to the 2024 Elections.
Welcoming the presidential aspirant to his Palace over the weekend, Nana Beyernnor affirmed that the former Trade and Industry Ministry was a son of Dambai, and that the traditional leadership and people of the area would support his aspiration to lead the NPP into the 2024 elections.
The Chief recalled how Alan Kyerematen, aka Alan Cash, worked closely with the region while in office, and assured him of his backing and that of his elders to victory.
Nana Beyernnor commended Mr. Kyerematen for his honesty and good conduct over the years, and said he would confer with delegates in Dambai to choose the right leader for the party.
The Dambaihene advised Alan Cash to see the NPP as one family and embark on a decent campaign without antagonising any member of the family in order to foster unity in the party.
Addressing the meeting of the chiefs, Mr. Kyerematen spoke about how the Oti Region had benefited from the One District One Factory (1D1F) projects by the government, and emphasised the need for job creation and industrialisation if Ghana was to progress.
He recounted his initiatives 22 years ago under President J.A. Kufuor in respect of garment, oil palm plantation and salt industries.
He noted the crucial role he played in the establishment of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to create a common market for the Continent to ensure its competitiveness in international trade.
He mentioned his role in getting Ghana to host the AfCFTA Headquarters, which had now made Accra the centre of business in Africa.
Mr. Kyerematen appealed to the people of Dambai, and Oti in general, to offer their maximum support for his presidential ambition since he had the record of creating jobs and wealth for the people.
Before he addressed the chiefs of Dambai, Alan Kyerematen requested that a minute’s silence be observed in memory of the late Black Stars player, Christian Atsu, who met his untimely death in Turkey when the country was hit by a devastating earthquake recently.
