The members of the Western Regional House of chiefs have commended President John Dramani Mahama for the formation of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).

Speaking on behalf of the chiefs at the Thank You Tour of President Mahama to Western Regional capital, Sekondi yesterday, Nana kobina Nketia V, Paramount Chief of Essikado said ORAL’s existence speaks loud of probity, accountability and transparency”, and that is why we are pleased with ORAL”.
“We are all members of ORAL. We know Mister President, ORAL is not guided by the norm as African spirit of vendetta …but let also tell you that we are humbly watching ORAL”, Nana Kobina Nketia said.
He advised the President to reach out to people who would look into his face and tell him the truth and that, “this is Mahama two and not Mahama one”.
President John Mahama has meanwhile given firm assurance to complete the abandoned Takoradi Market Circle redevelopment project.
According to him, he would summon a meeting between himself, the Finance Minister and the contractor this week to discuss how to finance the project.
President Mahama gave the assurance when he inspected the abandoned market redevelopment project on yesterday.
The President was in the region on a Thank You Tour of the region when he decided to inspect the project.

He was accompanied by Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah and General Secretary Fifi Kwetey amongst others.
Speaking to a large crowd who had thronged the project site on hearing of his arrival, President Mahama gave his assurance to complete the project.
According to him, given the importance the people of Takoradi, attached to the market and how it had become a burden, it was reasonable to complete it.
This assuring message from the president attracted spontaneous cheers from the large crowd who were mostly market women. The project was started by Former President Akufo-Addo in 2023, but has been abandoned.
