Vote NPP as appreciation for DRIP initiative-Electorate told

The Ashanti Regional Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Mr. Kwabena Senkyere, has urged the electorate who benefit from the DRIP initiative to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming election, slated for December 7, 2024.

MrSenkyere does not understand why an individual will benefit from such intervention and still vote against the government of the day.

“Where your DRIP machines are is where your votes must go. If we have brought these machines to your community for road development, do you need to vote against us?” the Ashanti regional DRIP Coordinator declared at the launch of the Amansie Central DRIP equipment, which was held at the forecourt of the Amansie Central District Assembly, in Jacobu.

He noted that the NPP has brought together all factors of production for the DRIP to be successful, hence the need for voters to extend their appreciation for the gesture, by voting for the elephant.

“Bawumia is providing iron rods, cement, chippings, twenty barrels and diesel because where your DRIP machines are, is where your votes must go.”

Describing how the implementation of DRIP has been crafted to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, Kwabene Senkyere, who spoke in the twi dialect, said “We do not want a scenario where one will ask that they are ready to buy fuel for the machines to work on their roads. Bawumia has budgeted for that.

MrSenkyere, who is the former assembly member for Dichemso and former first vice chairman for Ashanti regional NPP, said at the function that roads would be constructed at every nook and cranny of Amansie Central.

He added that in the course of the programme, they may have to construct a bridge, so provisions for iron rods have been made for such eventualities.

On the number of jobs DRIP has created in the Ashanti region, Kwabena Senkyere disclosed that the programme has created 2,780 in the Ashanti region alone.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie Central, Michael Donkor, expressed appreciation to the government for the equipment, emphasising that the equipment will go a long way in addressing the road construction challenges.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has introduced many intervention programmes in its quest to develop Ghana. He lauded the outgoing DCE, AKwasi Gyamfi, for extending electricity to the nook and cranny of the district.

The Amansie Central DCE noted that the Akufo Addo administration has done significantly well in the agricultural sector, in that it has helped to make food abundant.

This feat, Michael Donkor attributed to the introduction of a flagship Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) program, an intervention which has created employment for a number of Ghanaians.

Whilst MrDonkor admitted there are challenges associated with the Ghanaian economy, food is available, owing to the good agricultural policies introduced by the NPP government under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo.

He subsequently appealed to the residents of Jacobu to unite and vote for the NPP government to continue their good work for Ghana to develop.

On cocoa production, the Amansie Central DCE noted that the government has invested so much in the cocoa sector, despite the implications of the illegal mining, which is known as galamsey.

The Parliamentary Candidate for Odotobri constituency, Mr. Francis Mbeah, lauded the government for the DRIP program, describing it as unprecedented in the annals of Ghana.

According to Mbeah, transportation and for that matter roads play a pivotal role in the development of the area. In view of this, he expressed optimism that DRIP will help Amansie Central, which is noted for bad roads, change the narrative.

He called on the masses to rally behind the elephant in the upcoming polls. Nana Baffour Agyare II, the Kontihene for Jacobu expressed appreciation to the government for the gadgets since it will go a long way in developing their roads.
