Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has challenged voters in the Ashanti region to vote for the NDC for development.
According to him, the NDC is the only party that brings development to the region when in government and that the electorate needs to appreciate the party by voting massively for the party in the December 7 general elections to improve their lot.
Addressing Nananom, Party faithful and sympathizers at a rally dubbed: “Retail Campaign” to assess concerns and problems of the residents of Akomadan, Afrancho and Asuoso in the Offinso North constituency, Mr Asiedu aka General Mosquito, noted that elections are about development and addressing basic needs of the electorate.
He reminded the people of Offinso North that after voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential and parliamentary candidates for the past 28 years and yet lack basic infrastructural development, there was the need to change their voting pattern to vote for NDC. He stated that most of the developmental projects like rural electrification, construction of Roads, School infrastructures and water in the Offinso North constituency are NDC signature projects.
He cautioned the electorate not to allow themselves to be deceived by the NPP propaganda and lies for their votes, but vote massively for the former President and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress to guarantee their share of the national cake.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah said the NPP had taken voters in the Ashanti region for granted because they see themselves as innate NPP who do not consider development projects as a deciding factor and said that should not be the case and urged them to vote for a party that could turn their fortunes around positively.
He cautioned them not to vote for NPP this time round and later cry for development, but vote for the NDC party that does not discriminate when it comes to development and always ensures that every part of the country gets their fair share of the national cake irrespective of political affiliation.
He pleaded with the chiefs and opinion leaders to add their voices to the calls for peaceful co-existence among the citizens and urged those in power and other institutions to ensure peace, justice and transparency.
He noted that without peace there cannot be development and urged everyone to embrace peace towards our sustainable development.
Mr Caesar Acheampong Ofosu, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Offinso North pleaded with the electorate to give him the nod for the first time in 28 years to bring development to their doorstep.
Nana Badu Fram, Chief of Akomadan Afrancho commended the previous NDC administration for providing an E-Block for a community Day school and appealed to the party to consider providing the community with a toilet facility and Community centre when the party forms the next government.
