Vote For Corrupt-Free Bawumia …Naa Torshie Tells Ghanaians

The Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Irene Naa Torshie Addo, has appealed to Ghanaians to vote for the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because he is not corrupt.

According to her, the ruling NPP is presenting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who has not been implicated in any scandal and is ready to lead the country to greater heights.

“We are bringing to you Dr. Bawumia, whom the Lord has set aside and preserved for Ghana. This is a person who has no scandal attached to his name. He has never been implicated in any corrupt practices, nor has he insulted anyone,” she said.

The Administrator of the DACF commenced intense campaig in the Greater Region to rally support and secure votes for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In her campaigning, Naa Torshie is spreading the message that the presidential candidate of the ruling NPP is the best option among the tall list of persons vying to lead Ghana for the next four years.

The first phase of the campaig took her to six (6) constituencies; namely Korle Klottey, Tema East, Ashaiman, Tema Central, Ledzokuku and La Dade Kotopon.

Addressing constituents at the Korle Klottey and La Dade Kotopon Constituencies, Naa Torshie extended Dr. Bawumia’s greetings to all Ghanaians and outlined the reasons why it is imperative to vote for Dr. Bawumia during the upcoming elections.

She emphasised Dr. Bawumia’s integrity and good intentions for the people of Ghana, especially the youth, and urged voters to support all the New Patriotic Party candidates.

She further reiterated that great strides had been made by the NPP government to strengthen the post-COVID economy of Ghana and said the nation needed Dr. Bawumia with his astute leadership in economies and finance, to continue consolidating the gains made.

Touching on religious tolerance, Naa Torshie reminded Ghanaians that the nation’s Constitution is for all citizens, not just Christians.

Therefore, every person born in Ghana by birth and is forty years of age and older, and of sound mind fits to be president, regardless of their religious affiliation.

She pointed out that “If you say you are a Christian and you cannot vote for a Muslim to be president, then you are not practicing Christianity.”

She stressed that we should focus on the intentions of the person who wants to lead the country, and to her, Dr. Bawumia has proven to have the best of intentions to lead this country.

She further indicated that Dr. Bawumia engages and relates so well with Christians and he will be president for all without distinction.

To buttress her point, Naa Torshie said that even England, which introduced Christianity to Ghana, had a Prime Minister called Rishi Sunak, who was a Hindu.

“What matters most is a leader that has the interest of the people at heart and is ready to serve and lead with integrity and make things happen for the people,” she urged.

The former Tema West MP also encouraged citizens to reject religious intolerance and embrace all leaders, regardless of their faith.

Using the example of a medical emergency, she pointed out that no one asks for blood from a specific religion when in need.

“When you visit the hospital and you need blood, the blood you are given is not branded as a Christian or a Muslim blood,” she said, stressing that divisions based on religion should not influence the choice of president in the coming elections.

At all the constituencies she visited, the DACF Administrator urged voters to focus on electing a leader with the wisdom and courage to advance Ghana, citing the Free Senior High School (SHS) program as an example of bold leadership of the NPP government.

She said we need a visionary leader like Dr. Bawumia, who will take bold initiatives like empowering the youth, for the digital economy to accelerate the development and economic growth of Ghana.

She advised Ghanaians to think beyond their immediate needs, explaining that it is best to secure the future, as decisions made today would impact future generations.

Naa Torshie Addo assured widows and orphans of the support under the leadership of the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, when he becomes president.

She added that widows would not cry for lack of support because “your husband Bawumia has ‘married’ all of you and would be there for you.”

On the elections, she encouraged voters to look for the number one spot on the ballot paper, as Dr. Bawumia secured that position during the parties’ balloting at the Electoral Commission.

She said that “when you go to vote, don’t put your face down because if you do that, you will miss your step and hurt yourself. Rather look at the top of the ballot, find number one and vote wisely.”

She also introduced the NPP parliamentary candidates at each constituency and edged the people to vote for them as well.
