VODEC Africa to Host National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum

VODEC Africa is set to gather over 4,000 young people at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) for the National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum (NELEF).

Scheduled to take place on September 23, 2024, under the theme “Leading for Sustainable Economic Growth in a Multipolar World: The Role of Emerging Leaders,” the event aims to address key career and leadership issues impacting Ghana’s youth.

Launched yesterday in Accra, NELEF is designed as a non-partisan initiative to engage not only the lives of attendees but also to connect with an additional 1 million participants online.

The forum seeks to explore the role of emerging leaders in navigating development challenges and fostering sustainable economic growth.

Daniel Asomani, CEO of VODEC Africa, emphasised the importance of the forum in the context of today’s dynamic global economy.

“The global economy is evolving towards a more complex and multipolar landscape. This requires a new breed of leaders—those who are adaptable, agile, and well-equipped to meet these challenges,” Asomani stated.

He also noted the current challenges facing emerging leaders, including limited opportunities and resources, which contribute to brain drain and disillusionment.

The forum will therefore empower youth with essential knowledge and skills, address national issues such as climate change and social injustice, and promote innovative solutions.

The event will feature contributions from professionals and presidential candidates, offering actionable strategies and fostering a movement for positive change.

He noted that the NELEF is poised to be a landmark event in shaping the future of Ghanaian leadership and economic growth, showcasing how ordinary individuals can achieve extraordinary results through collaboration and courage.

Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, a board member of VODEC Africa and Founder of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, invited political parties to participate, emphasising that future success hinges on effective succession planning and youth development.

Dr. Tetteh urged that if political parties are truly concerned about the future, they should engage in this crucial dialogue.

He stressed the need for selfless and visionary leadership that inspires and unifies.

Nana Barimah Sarpong, also a board member, highlighted the importance of human resources over natural resources for national development.

The forum aims to inspire a new generation of leaders capable of driving Ghana’s progress through collective action and visionary thinking.
