“Kweku the Traveler” hit maker, Black Sherif has been adjudged Artiste of the Year of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) this year.
The 24th edition of the VGMA was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) this Saturday, May 6.
The big award of the night was contested chiefly between gospel musician Piesie Esther and the “Konongo Zongo” musician, Black Sherif.
Black Sherif who made his debut into the Ghanaian music landscape not too long ago has worked hard and tirelessly to become a force to reckon with both locally and internationally with his music penetrating the international music market.
The young musician has set record as the only artiste from Ghana to hit a total stream of 1 billion across all music platforms.
Following the release of three (3) of his most received albums namely “The Villain I Never Was”, “Second Sermon” and “First Sermon”, the 21-year old music sensation got music lovers streaming his song on music platforms including iTunes, Audio Mack, Boom play, Spotify, Deezer and YouTube.
Black Sherif today wins the most coveted award of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards topping the “Artiste of the Year” category which climaxed the event.
