University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (USTED) has announced their non-involvement in the National Service Authority (NSA) payroll irregularities.

A press statement signed by Mr. Michael Kofi Twum-Anpofo, UUSTE’s  Director  of Public Affairs, stated that in April 2025, the NSA requested that 2024/2025 final year students list should be loaded on the NSA portal for processing towards the 2024/2025 National Service Deployment.

It said the NSA portal provided a template to be completed and instructed that those who qualified to be added to the list should be 18 years and above, Ghanaians who have not been enrolled as National Service Persons in the past and not students of Affiliate Colleges of Education.

The statement explained that management submitted the final year class list in accordance with the template going by the instructions.

It was further disclosed that on December 1, 2025, the Deputy Director-General, the Head of IT and the Regional Director, Ashanti Region, all of the NSA, were at USTED to verify the data loaded on the NSA portal and did not find anything adverse.

Management noted that on December 16, 2025, some media outlets carried news in which the Director-General of the NSA reported that over 8,000 names submitted for postings had been flagged. The Director-General indicated that three universities, including USTED were involved in serious irregularities and that ten of the staff have been arrested.

The statement further added that on the same day, the Deputy Director General of the NSA, on Metro Television, retracted the presentation that USTED submitted ghost names.

USTED management has, therefore, stated categorically that no member of USTED staff or student has been arrested, emphasising that USTED staff have not been involved in irregularities relating to National Service payroll fraud.

It urged Students, prospective students, staff, and other stakeholders to continue to trust in the integrity of the institution and its staff.
