Residents of Asotwe, in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region, can now boast of an ultra-modern police station.
The facility, which was built by Dr. Kwame Agyemang Budu, the former Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and his spouse, Mrs. Nana Abrefi Agyeman-Budu has been commissioned.
The donors explained that the project is an indication of their belief in supporting initiatives that drive positive change, enhance public safety and promote community development.
Dr. Budu stated that the new police station will not only provide a secure environment for the citizens, but also serve as a symbol of hope and trust in law enforcement, towards strengthening law and order.
According to him, the police station represents a beacon of hope for the people in ensuring that justice and protection are within reach.
He urged police officers, who would utilise the facility, to protect, serve with integrity and dedication and build trust within the community. He reminded them that their role is crucial in maintaining peace and order.
He entreated the community to work together with the police to promote a culture of respect, understanding and cooperation.
Dr. Budu expressed his profound gratitude to Nana Adwoa Sika Brayie, the Queen of Asotwe, Nananom and the elders for their support towards the successful completion of the project.
He also lauded Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, Kwabena Boateng, Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Municipal Chief Executive, Samuel Oduro Frimpong, Mac Manu, Ben Acheampong (CEO of Noda Hotel), Mr. Kwaku Nsiah Agyeman-Budu of the USA and the police administration for their support.
He also commended the former Divisional Police Commander, Chief Supt Kweku Bempah, Chief Supt Adu Boahen, District Police Commander and Friends of Agyeman-Budu Foundation for their support.
