The budding Action Peoples Party (APP) has officially cut the sod for the construction of a proposed ultramodern Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Center for the Nkawie Panin M/A Junior High School (JHS) in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
It is part of the party’s plan to construct ICT centres in all the 275 constituencies across the country.
Mr. Kenneth Nana Kwame Asamoah, Founder and Leader of Action Peoples Party, who helped Nana Konto Boakye, Queenmother of Nkawie Panin, to cut the sod for the proposed project, said the party was poised to make ICT education accessible to all, including school children between the age group os five and 18 years.
He said the ICT Center would be furnished with library facilities and other modern equipment needed for education.
Mr. Ernest Atta Gyamfi, on behalf of the Municipal Education Director, lauded the gesture of the Action Peoples Party for the commitment towards education in the country.
He noted that technology was very necessary, as we live in a global village, and said the initiative of the APP was appropriate and timely.
He added that the project wpuld enhance students’ knowledge on ICT to be abreast with global issues.
