Trump’s Return and Election 2024: Let’s Have Some Fun, Now!

With all its advancement, America is saying it cannot predict Donald Trump?

Trump has always been portrayed as a bully to the rest of the world. He was alleged to be always harassing women, showing he always has control over them. This showed when he contested the 2016 election against the well-known woman, Hillary Clinton. He whipped her dry and clean. But coming face to face with his senior brother, Uncle Joe, he was beaten squarely and in the state confusion instead of heading home, he headed to the White House only to be told, it was “for Biden.”

With his pride brought low, Trump went into vigorous training, to be well fit to beat Biden. When he met him at the NSLQ (National Speaking and Literature Quiz) the debate version of NSMQ (National Science and Maths Quiz), he shook the old man small. Not to take chances, Biden’s bench who had no idea this was a trick, quickly replaced him to avoid embarrassment on Election Day and brought a woman, Kamala.

Unfortunately, this was what Trump has been fasting and praying for. He made a big sign of the cross and said “Amen, Alleluia!” He met Kamala at another NSLQ competition and intentionally lost miserably, to make people believe, he had met his meeter.

Then came the D-Day, November 5, 2024 for the elections. Kamala had prepared a victory speech and was ready to read it when she gets to fifty Electoral votes short of the mandatory, 270 to be declared winner. By that time Trump should be struggling to get close to 120 votes, so she thought. She chose to read it in her former school with her old mates around, so that those who did not regard her in school, will now bow down to her, as she would be the most powerful human on earth.

But Trump did his thing some again and did unto Kamala as he had done unto Hillary. With just four votes short of the mandatory 270 electoral votes, Trump looking behind him and not seeing any sign of Kamala, confidently made his victory/acceptance speech. Should Kamala miraculously storm past to the tape before him, he can plead in court that he made that important speech first and so rightfully deserves the medal.

Trump came triumphantly blowing his trumpet. He has done what nobody thought he could. Men ran away from him and presented a woman to him, not knowing that his always conquers women. The Democrats played a loose game. They forgot one thing, and that monkeys play by sizes.

Trump is back and triumphantly, so. His Republicans (the Elephants), have taken full control of both, the House and the Senate. The Americans have decisively decided that they want the Republicans to make the Republic great again, among all nations and not the Democrats who are turning the States into a nation where rights are democratically turned into wrongs.

Almost 11,000 kilometers away, in a God blessed homeland called Ghana, the news of the triumphant return of Trump was interpreted in diverse ways to suit whoever was speaking. Supporters of the NDC saw this as a good omen, because Donald Trump was an ex-president who staged a comeback by defeating the current vice president, Kamala Harris.

On December 7, 2024 Ghana will decide on who will be the next president. In the race, is an ex-president, John Mahama, on the NDC ticket, and the vice president, Bawumia, on the NPP ticket. So, by the simple arithmetic theory of if-more-less-divide, the NDC are in glory land saying if ex-president Trump defeated vice president Kamala, then ex-president Mahama will defeat vice president Bawumia to win the presidential election.

The NPP on the other hand, just laughed and reminded the NDC that Trump is a family member from the Elephant family and the first time he won, NPP won the elections and won big, so finding ‘x’ in this equation will equate to NPP winning big in December.

From 1992 to 2016, whenever the Democrats wins in the US, the NDC wins in Ghana and whenever the Republicans wins, the NPP wins. In 2020, however, things changed. The Democrats won in the US and the NPP won in Ghana. With Trump’s return, the old system could certainly be back.

One thing with Trump is that he wins against the run of play. In 2016, Hillary Clinton looked certain to win, but Trump won and in 2024, with the advent of Kamala, Trump looked like he was going to be permanently retired in politics, but he won, easily. In Ghana, since 1992, both the NDC and NPP took two-terms of eight years, each. NPP, however wants to spring surprise and break the eight, but looks like it is the underdog.

Trump’s victory could translate into an NDC most shocking defeat that could offer NPP, an uninterrupted sixteen years reign as the Republicans are most likely going to go for at least twelve years, with Vance going eight years after Trump.

Well as things stand, the NDC should not see Trump’s victory as a good omen, for just as the Trump spelt doom for the Democrats, so will Bawumia spell doom for the NDC.

As for me I am not a prophet but someone who sometimes read between the lines, just for fun.

Hon. Daniel Dugan
