TJTP, BCI organise breast screening for Kokoben residents

The Joseph Tieyire Project (TJTP), in collaboration with Breast Care International (BCI), has organised Breast Cancer screening for over 300 residents of Kokoben and Anwomaso in the Oforikrom Constituency to climax the Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October.

The Chairman of the project, George Fosu, revealed that the focus of TJTP was to support and empower brilliant but needy students, the teeming youth, and women in diverse ways, including health screening exercises.

He mentioned that under TJTP’s philanthropic mission, it had provided scholarships for university and polytechnic students, offered financial assistance to support women, and bought vehicles for the youth to use for commercial businesses.

Mr. Fosu also disclosed that TJTP had supported schools with educational materials in his quest to empower quality education and learning in the constituency.

Madam Gloria Adjei Nyame, Senior Nurse at the Peace and Love Hospital, advised women to always report cases relating to breast cancer in time to enhance early treatment.

The Senior Nurse cautioned women against attributing the breast cancer disease to spirituality or witchcraft, adding that early detection and treatment saved lives.

She lauded TJTP’s initiative to give back to the constituents of Oforikrom Municipality on a yearly basis.
