President Bola Tinubu has returned to the country following his trips to St Lucia and Brazil.
The president arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and was received by a high-powered government delegation, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu; the Minister of Defence, Bello Matawalle; the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu; and ex-Sokoto governor Aliyu Wamakko, among others.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja Saturday night from his trips to Saint Lucia and Brazil,” presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said in a post on his X handle early Sunday.
“He was welcomed at the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja by the Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Alh Abubakar Atiku, Alh Ibrahim Masari, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Minister for Defence, Muhammed Bello Matawalle, and NSA Nuhu Ribadu.”
In St Lucia, Tinubu attended and addressed a joint session of the Caribbean nation’s parliament. He also bagged the country’s highest honour — the Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL).
After he visited St Lucia, the president went to Brazil — Rio de Janeiro — to join other world leaders for the BRICS Summit.
During the BRICS summit, the president called for the inclusion of low-income economies.
