Before the meeting commenced, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, led the council members in observing a minute of silence in honour of a former Minister of Women and Youth Development, Mrs Salome Jankada, who served in the cabinet of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. She passed away on 27 August 2024.

Although the agenda for Monday’s meeting remains unclear, PUNCH Online understands that it includes a long list of memoranda for the approval of various projects from several ministries.
