The Solevo Group has donated agricultural inputs valued at GH¢120,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in support of the upcoming 2025 National Farmers’ Day celebration.

UThe donation, made on Friday, October 31, 2025, forms part of the company’s continued commitment to supporting Ghanaian farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture.

Items donated included 500 bags of NPK 15-15-15 fertilizer, 480 litres of Aguafo (a glyphosate-based total weed herbicide), and 100 litres of Kodak foliar fertilizer — essential inputs aimed at enhancing crop yields and weed control on farms across the country.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Accra, Chief Director of MoFA, Mr. Paul Siameh, expressed profound gratitude to Solevo Group for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.

“We are very, very grateful on behalf of the Government of Ghana and the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Okwu, who is currently part of our National Assembly,” Mr. Siameh said.

“We will ensure that the items you have presented to us are put to the appropriate use. The ultimate beneficiaries — our noble and gallant farmers — will surely benefit from your generosity,” he assured.

He further noted that this year’s National Farmers’ Day celebration, which will be climaxed on Friday, December 5, 2025, will feature a five-day agricultural exhibition showcasing innovations from researchers, equipment and input dealers, and farmers themselves.

“We will make sure to acknowledge your contribution when presenting awards to deserving farmers at the National Farmers’ Day celebration,” he added.

On behalf of Solevo Group, Mr. Samuel Kofi Sarpong, Distribution Manager for Ghana, said the donation was part of the company’s commitment to strengthening the agricultural value chain and improving farmers’ productivity.

“We are committed to supporting Ghanaian farmers with quality inputs. Our Aguafo glyphosate herbicide, NPK 15-15-15 fertilizer, and Kodak foliar fertilizer are designed to meet the diverse needs of farmers cultivating crops like maize, rice, and vegetables,” Mr.Sarpong explained.

He emphasized that Solevo’s partnership with MoFA reflects its long-term vision of contributing to food security and agricultural transformation in Ghana.

The National Farmers’ Day, celebrated annually on the first Friday of December, recognizes the hard work and contributions of Ghanaian farmers and fishers to national development. This year’s event is expected to bring together key stakeholders from across the agricultural sector to honor outstanding farmers and promote innovation in agribusiness.
