Seeking attention in Showbiz is not bad -Sista Afia

Singer Sista Afia has stated that she sees nothing wrong with individuals seeking attention from the public as long as it’s for showbiz.

Speaking to popular fashion stylist and influencer, Charlie Dior, on the Ghana Entertainment Awards red carpet, she stated that seeking attention is a natural part of the entertainment industry.

She stated, “If the person is seeking attention for show business, I think it makes sense. That’s why it’s called show business. You just have to know how to manoeuvre yourself.”

Sista Afia encouraged individuals to pursue what is beneficial for them, adding, “Anything that’s good for anybody, just go ahead and do.”

Her comments were in reply to a question by Charlie DIor on attention-seeking amongst individuals, especially in light of the recent saga by Chef Ebenezer Smith and his Guinness World Record attempt.

After his much-publicized Guinness World Record attempt for the Longest Cooking Marathon by an individual in March 2024, Chef Smith held a press conference at La Palm Beach Hotel to announce his recognition by the body.

However, it was later revealed that the Guinness World Records had no record of such an application or attempt from him.

This revelation led to public backlash and accusations of deceit, prompting Chef Smith and his assistant to issue public apologies.

In an emotional interview on GHOne TV, he expressed deep regret, saying he simply wanted an opportunity to display his talent and make a livelihood for himself.
