“Resetting Ghana agenda”: Prof. Asiedu donates pickups to Mahama

Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, has made a staggering donation of seven vehicles to the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

This unprecedented donation formed part of the chairman’s efforts to supercharge the party’s campaign machinery in the Central Region as the December 7th elections draw near.

At a vibrant ceremony held at St. Andrews SHS in Mankessim, Prof. Asiedu handed over the keys to the party’s flagbearer, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

The vehicles consisted of six pickups and a state-of-the-art mobile information van fully equipped with the necessary electronic equipment, such as loud speakers and other gadgets.

Rationale for the donation

In a brief statement during the presentation, Prof. Asiedu indicated that the party has targeted at least 20 out of the 23 parliamentary seats in the Central Region in the December polls.

According to him, the regional party, under him as the chairman, has aimed at winning about 60 percent of the presidential votes in the region for His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

The target as set by the party, he explained, needed the necessary support and the needed logistics to better equip the party to reach every nook and cranny of the Central Region, which is noticed for being a swing region.

This, he added, would enable the campaign machinery to fully spread the party’s message of the need to reset the country to inspire hope with the proposed introduction of a 24-hour economy, which has resonated with the aspirations of many Ghanaians.

Gesture unprecedented

Receiving the keys to the vehicles, Mr. Mahama praised Prof. Asiedu for his commitment to transforming the party in the region, coupled with ambitious targets that would significantly improve the fortunes of the party’s quest to recapture power.

He said, though others have supported the party’s campaign with motorbikes and other logistics, Prof. Asiedu was the first regional chairman to donate vehicles to the party, describing it as “unprecedented.”

Mr. Mahama rededicated the vehicles to the region as a means to bolster the morale of the party’s coordinated campaign activities in their spirited journey to win the December 7th polls to reset the country to a path of economic transformation.

Appeal

The former president appealed to all those who would be in charge of the vehicles to be vigilant and exercise extra caution at all times to ensure that nobody will suffer an accident or any harm as part of the party’s campaign towards victory.

He further cautioned that the vehicles, which formed part of the many initiatives by Prof. Asiedu to bolster the morale of the party for victory, must be strictly used for their intended purposes.

Supporters grateful

Party supporters, who graced the occasion of the unprecedented donation, expressed their uttermost appreciation to their regional chairman for his commitment to winning the region for the party with his kind donation.
