Regional Minister inspects stalled Projects in Ahafo Ano South West and East Districts

Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing stalled developmental projects in the Ahafo Ano South West and East Districts.

During a visit to various project sites on Monday, Dr. Amoakohene assured residents that the government was dedicated to improving the Socio-Economic development of the people.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, accompanied by the District Chief Executives (DCEs), visited several project sites, including the construction of a District Hospital (Agenda 111) at Kunsu and a 6-unit classroom block at Oyinanufo. He also toured the Mankranso Community Park project site.

At the Agenda 111 site, the lead Contractor, Nickseth Construction Company Ltd, disclosed that the project was 73.4% complete.

Dr. Amoakohene highlighted the government’s developmental agenda, emphasizing the allocation of funds to transform the socioeconomic status of every district. The Minister also addressed concerns about mining, stating that President John Dramani Mahama is not against mining, but rather against irresponsible mining.

He announced that the President will launch Cooperative Mining at Obuasi, on August 6, 2025 which aims to promote responsible mining and reclamation of mined lands.

The Regional Minister charged the media to report accurately on the current state of the projects, ensuring that the public is informed about the progress and challenges.

He emphasized the need for the completion of the projects and assured that he would brief the Health Minister on the current status of the District Hospital project.

The Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly DCE, Abubakar Sedik, expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visit and pledged to continue working with him to complete the Agenda 111 District Hospital project, expected to improve the living conditions and Socio-Economic development of the people in the district.
