The CenBa Africa Business Excellence Awards in collaboration with E4Impact Foundation Italy, has bestowed the prestigious award on the Chief Executive Officer of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah.
The award recognises the KATH CEO as the Outstanding CEO of the year 2024 for his Leadership in Health Care Transformation and his exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing the healthcare sector in Ghana.
The CenBa Africa Business Excellence Award, which is accredited by the Independent Award Standards Council UK, the largest award accreditation body in the world, acknowledges and celebrates the achievements, innovations and contributions of individuals and organisations within the African Business ecosystem in recognition and appreciation of their exceptional contribution and success.
The award, comprising a citation, a medal and a plaque, was presented to Prof. Addai-Mensah at a short ceremony in Kumasi on Wednesday, by Mr. Stephen Fosu, CEO of CenBaAfrica Business Excellence Awards and Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Kwarteng, Board Member of the Awards scheme and Registrar of Wisconsin International University College.
Mr. Kwarteng, while outlining the reasons why Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah was selected, said “The award serves as a testament to his visionary leadership and the ongoing transformation of KATH into one of the leading medical institutions in West Africa”.
The CenBaAfrica Awards Scheme Board member further explained that Prof. Addai-Mensah had shown evidence of measurable positive outcomes in the healthcare sector since he became CEO of KATH on December 1, 2022.
“Your dedication to the transformation of KATH has been abundantly clear to all stakeholders and we are proud to confer on you this prestigious award for your outstanding performance,” he emphasised.
Receiving the award, Prof Addai- Mensah expressed his gratitude to his team, especially the members of his Board and Management team, staff and patients at KATH, for his guidance and support since he assumed office two years ago.
He described the award as a collective achievement and recognition of the hard work and dedication of the entire KATH family.
He assured that the management and staff would remain committed to providing the highest standard of care and continuing to drive innovation in Ghana’s healthcare landscape.
