At the Ofankor-Nsawam site, the Chief Resident Engineer for the Project, Ing. Kwabena Bempong, told the President and his entourage that the construction team is “working assiduously to complete sections of the project and open to traffic to reduce the current negative impact on the travelling public by the end of September.”

He said that commuters plying the Ofankor–Nsawam road will soon heave a sigh of relief as the main carriageway from the Ofankor-China Mall stretch, except for the Amasaman Interchange area, which will be opened to traffic by the end of September 2024.

MOTORWAY

The Flowerpot Interchange Project, according to the contractor, currently stands at 92% complete and it is expected to be substantially completed by the end of October this year.

The project seeks to improve the lives of people and commuters travelling from the North to the South Sections of the Accra-Tema Motorway, reduce congestion at the Flowerpot Intersection along the Spintex Road, and serve as a direct route to Accra East from Burma Camp and its environs to East Legon and the other way round.

QUALITY

The President said he was impressed with the quality of works being done on the projects and asked the contractors to ensure value for money in delivering the monumental projects for the people of Ghana.

“I’m happy to see that in all of this, the quality of the work that is being done is very impressive. And that is what is giving me a lot of satisfaction.

“That the contractors who are working here are doing a very good job. So, we should all encourage them to try as much as possible to finish…,” he said.
