The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, left the country yesterday, Monday, November 8, 2021, for Praia, capital of Cape Verde.
The President is in the country for the swearing-in ceremony of Jose Maria Neves, President-elect of Cape Verde.
President Akufo-Addo is attending the swearing-in ceremony, which is taking place today, in his capacity as the Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of States and Governments of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The President would return to Ghana today after attending the investiture of President-elect Jose Maria Neves.
In his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, would act in his place in accordance with the law.
