The 1999 year group of the Prempeh College in Kumasi has built and commissioned a 3-bedroom bungalow and a 225,000 liter Polytank for their Alma mater at the cost of GH¢104 million.
The project, which started in May 2024 and was completed in July 2024, comprises 3-bedrooms, all with toilet and bathroom facilities, a kitchen and an extra washroom for visitors.
Mr. Michael Nketiah, President of the 1999-year group, explained that the gesture is part of activities to mark their silver jubilee with legacy projects to enhance teaching and learning on campus.
He said at the commissioning and handing over ceremony that the projects were funded through the contributions of members of the group.
According to him, the group has embarked on a mentorship programme with career experts to help current students mould their future.
The Very Rev. Louis Asare, Headmaster of the School, expressed his profound gratitude to the 1999-year group for the laudable initiative to absorb the accommodations problems facing the school.
According to him, the school can boast of about 4,608 students with 203, but only 32 teachers have accommodation on campus, stressing that the edifice and the water facilities have come at the right time.
