Police Smoke-Out East Legon  Robbers

The Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested 30-year-old suspect, Isaac Brena Eshun, for alleged robbery.

He was arrested on August 21, 2024 following an intelligence-led operation launched on August 19, 2024 after a robbery incident in East Legon, a police source has told The Chronicle.

The Mercedes Benze Retrieved

Two victims had been robbed at gunpoint in front of their home, losing a Mercedes-Benz C180, two iPhones, AirPods and an unspecified amount of money.

According to the source, the Police retrieved an iPhone 13 Pro Max belonging to one of the victims, along with a Samsung Galaxy A15 from the suspect.

The Chronicle was further informed that during interrogation, Eshun revealed that his accomplice was 47-year-old Peter Amuzu, also known as “Master Pee,” an ex-convict, recently released from Nsawam Prisons after serving time for a similar offense.

On August 23, 2024 police apprehended Amuzu at his hideout in East Legon. Another stolen item, an iPhone 12 Pro Max belonging to one of the victims, was recovered from him.

The Fortuner

Further investigation led the suspects to disclose that they had sold the stolen Mercedes-Benz to a man, known as Ibrahim Mohammed, also called “King Dawa” or “Alhaji Mike,” a 32-year-old resident of Tamale.

The police, on August 24, 2024 arrested Ibrahim Mohammed in Tamale. Along with the stolen Mercedes-Benz, three additional vehicles—a Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Vitz and Toyota [model unspecified] – were also recovered.

The police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that they remain committed to ensuring that criminals are not given any space to disturb the peace and security of the country.
