Police at Prampram are on the heels of two fetish priests suspected to have a link to ritual murders in the Ningo Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region.
This follows the discoveries of two headless bodies of a female at Lerkpongunor and Old Ningo respectively last week.
The fetish priests now on the run are; Addo and Francis, who are well known in Ningo for their practices.
Information The Chronicle gathered from a police source in Tema revealed that on Monday October 24, 2022 police received a report about the presence of the headless body of an unknown middle aged female on the beach at Lerkpongunor, near Old Ningo.
The body was examined, collected and deposited at the Police Hospital in Accra, awaiting autopsy.
The following day, Tuesday October 25, 2022 police received yet another report that a male adult, 46 years old George Osabutey, though a native of Ningo, residing in Dawhenya, had gone missing.
The source went on that, on Friday October 28, 2022 police inquisition led them to the Old Ningo public cemetery, where scientific investigation proved the place to be where Osabutey last visited.
Based on the unfailing lead, detectives searched the entire necropolis for any freshly dug grave and their efforts yielded result.
The missing man’s body was exhumed from an old grave and was found to be headless and later deposited at the Police mortuary.
Further police investigation revealed that on Sunday October 23, 2022 Osabutey informed some friends at Dawhenya that he was going to Ningo to see Addo, but would go to Francis to take him there.
At Old Ningo, there was a cultural group performance to entertain people where the deceased, George Osabutey, was last seen in the company of the two fetish priests.
Ongoing police investigation took them to Lerkpongunor to look for the two fetish priests but almost met their waterloo.
When Police got to the home of one Michael Kwabena, who was to help in the apprehension of Addo, he became so furious and allegedly attempted using a weapon but was overpowered.
He has since been charged with threat of death and also being in possession of firearm without authority.
