Playing Kotoko in pre-season was a good test for us -Gold Stars Coach

Bibiani Gold Stars Football Club head coach, Frimpong Manso, has highlighted the positives from playing a preseason friendly game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko beat Gold Stars 1-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium as both prepare to compete in the 2024-2025 Ghana  Premier League season.

Speaking to the press after the game, coach Frimpong Manso was adamant it was a good outing for his side despite the loss.

“For us it’s a good test for us because we’ve played a lot of lower tier games and this around, it’s Kotoko so it’s not about us losing the game. I think it’s good, generally, it’s good. Most of them (players) have not even played with Kotoko so for me I think it will give us some confidence going forward so I think it’s a very good exercise for us.”

“This is a preseason game, the scoreline doesn’t matter too much, it’s all about the content; what you gain or what you wanted to achieve in the game, if you achieved that for me, that is the most important thing.”

Gold Stars play Legon Cities on September 6 while Kotoko play Karela United on the same day to open the new season.
