Gospel Artiste turned Pastor,Sonnie Badu has caused stir online with pictures he posted which showed a tattoo on his left hand.
The pictures posted on his Instagram page showed Dr. Badu and a group of instrumentalists rehearsing.
The caption that matched the pictures suggested that the renowned Artiste is about to have concerts in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
According to him, the instrumentalists in the pictures, who are from across the world, were cautiously chosen for the project. The caption that accompanied the pictures indicated that the first day of preparations for the project has been completed.
“From Ghana, Nigeria, Atlanta, and Canada this project has all my BaduNation citizen’s coming… Ivory Coast Abijan – you are about to experience the BADU family… They were carefully selected and are extremely skilled in their craft. Day 1” he posted.
Sonnie Baduis also the leader of the Rock Hill Chapel in Atlanta Georgia, USA.
The tattoo on Pastor Badu’s hand would not have been a big deal considering that fact that it is a known practice in Creative Arts but this is very unusual in the Gospel industry, a subset of the Creative Arts. Opponents of tattoos argue that God forbids it, quoting Leviticus 19:28 to back their claim“You shall not make gashes in your flesh for the dead, or incise any marks on yourselves.”
